Review of a trip to Koh Lipe with a wonderful 4 days 3 nights package at Ananya Resort
“Lipe” is an island in Satun which has been famous for a long time. It’s believed that whoever visits here once will surely revisit again several times. Its world-class beauty has gained popularity among tourists. After the COVID-19 pandemic situations, the nature has restored itself and now it’s ready to welcome tourists to see the beauty of crystal-clear sea water. Koh Lipe is not far from Malaysia-Thailand border. Tourists can get there by passing through Wang Kelian border or taking the ferry from Langkawi. However, this route is still not opened. It is anticipated to open in this high season.

This review is about how to travel to Koh Lipe from Malaysia. For this trip, admin would like to recommend 4 days 3 nights package at Ananya Resort Koh Lipe.

First day: Hat Yai International Airport / Hat Yai – Pak Bara Pier

08:30 – 09:30 AM. Staff from “Hi Lipe” will welcome you at the assembly point which is “Gate 8, Hat Yai International Airport, Songkhla”, if you travel by plane. In case you already accommodated in Hat Yai, you could inform the name of your hotel or location in Hat Yai so staff could pick you up. The van driver will help you with your bags and your seat on the air-conditioned van then take you to Pak Bara Pier, La-ngu District, Satun. (Estimated travel time is around 1 hour and 45 minutes.)

10:45 – 11:00 AM. When you arrive at Pak Bara Pier, staff from Hi Lipe will welcome you and take you to the Pier Building to check in your boat ticket. (Please prepare 220 baht per person. This amount includes port fee which is 20 baht and national park fee which is 200 baht.) Admin suggests you have a meal beforehand or buy food at 7-11 near Hi Lipe Office. Koh Lipe also has 7-11 but the prices would be slightly higher.

11:30 AM. Heading to Koh Lipe by speed boat. (Estimated travel time is around 1 hour and 30 minutes.)

12:15 PM. Arriving at Tarutao National Park in Satun. You can take photos for about 15 minutes. The highlights of Koh Lipe include the naturality of corals around the island, beautiful gulf, and soft sand on the beach which is white like powder. (We’ll stop at this spot only in high season, from October 16 to May 15 of every year.)

12:45 PM. Stopping by Koh Khai to take photos around 15 minutes. The highlight of this island is the headland by the coast. It’s a sea cliff with beautiful natural rock arch. In addition, it is believed that couples who walk under this arch will get married. So, to any couples who visit Koh Khai, don’t forget to walk under this arch.

01:45 PM. When you arrive at the pier on Koh Lipe, hotel staff will already be there waiting for you and holding a sign with hotel name. They will take you to your accommodation.

P.S. Boat schedule in low season for Pak Bara Pier – Koh Lipe is 11:30 AM and 01:30 PM.

The 11:30 AM ride will stop by Tarutao National Park and Koh Khai for around 15 minutes per each spot to let you take photos.

Around 04:30 – 06:00 PM, staff will call you to confirm the time to pick you up from the hotel for “snorkeling  trip”.

For this trip, admin recommends Ananya Resort. It is a splendid resort with modern style. There are various kinds of room, a big swimming pool behind the rooms, well-equipped luxurious facilities, and buffet breakfast with a variety of food.

As the resort is in front of the Pattaya beach, you can have full privacy while enjoying the beach. There is also a bar by the beach so you can be drinking and chilling. It is an ultimate heaven for sea lovers. Besides, this place is near a walking street, restaurants, and bars. So, it is super easy to find food and you can never be starved here.

The highlighted rooms of this resort include Deluxe Pool Access. You can just simply open the back door and jump into the water. From afternoon till evening, there is a bar where you can order food and beverages. You can take your time sipping cold drinks and chilling.

Another room is Deluxe Pool View. Everything in the room is identical to Deluxe Pool Access except for it is in upper floor. The price is a little lower.

Wait, that’s not all. Admin recommends the yacht cruise. You will enjoy the view of sunset while sipping wine in a super romantic vibe. It’s a perfect chance to take cool photos and post them on social media. This service is available daily during 04:30 – 07:00 PM. The price is only 999 baht per person. You can get on the yacht just in front of the resort. It’s very convenient. For anyone who is interested, you need to book a seat beforehand. You can’t be too slow because it sells out very fast. You might miss the chance to get beautiful photos to show your friends.

Second day: Koh Kra – Koh U-sen – Koh Adang – Koh Hin Khao – Ao Mae Mai

09:30 AM. Staff will pick you up from the resort and take you to diving spots by long-tailed boat (wooden boat). The first diving spot is “Koh Kra”. Enjoy the wonder under Andaman Sea. This spot is a shallow diving spot which contains abundance and beautiful corals. Corals here include Staghorn coral mixed with hard corals. The next destination is “Koh U-sen”, a small island with the beach. It’s an island where you can dive around to see corals. Corals found around Koh Yang are hard corals mixed with soft corals such as Leaf coral, Brain coral, Staghorn coral, and other soft corals. You might also find shells here as well.

12:00 PM. Having lunch at Koh Adang. (Box Lunch)

Then, you will get to see the beauty of “Koh Adang”. It is the location of the Protection Unit of Tarutao National Park. This island has a very beautiful beach, and it is one of the best diving spots to see corals. Corals here are hard corals such as Staghorn coral, Porites lutea, and Hydnophora microconos. You might also find Sea Anemone, Giant clams, or Clownfish here as well.

01:30 PM. You will get to see the beauty of corals and White Rock. White Rock is a small group of rocks under the brim of water which is located at the northeast area of Koh Kra. Around White Rock is one of the four diving spots of Tarutao National Park where you can see “Stonehenge Pinnacle”. Many kinds of fish are found here as they come for their food.

02:30 PM. You will get to see the beauty of corals at “Ao Mae Mai”. It is near Koh Adang and this is another island where you can dive around to see corals. Corals found around Ao Mae Mai include hard corals and soft corals such as Leaf coral, Brain coral, Staghorn coral, and other soft corals. You might also find very gigantic Giant clams here as well.

03:00 – 03:30 PM. Heading back to the resort.

P.S. Diving zone in the east is the diving zone for low season which takes place from May 16 to October 15 of every year.

Third day: Leisure time.

Fourth day: Koh Lipe – Pak Bara Pier – Hat Yai International Airport / Hat Yai

11:30 AM. It’s time to say goodbye to Koh Lipe. You have to check in your boat ticket in front of Ban Koh Adang School. Staff will be standing by and take you to Pak Bara Pier by speed boat. (Estimated travel time is around 1 hour and 45 minutes.)

01:00 PM. Arriving at Pak Bara Pier. Staff will be waiting for you in front of Pak Bara Pier Building. Please look for the “Hi Lipe” sign.

01:30 PM. Staff are standing by to take you to Hat Yai International Airport / Hat Yai. (Estimated travel time is around 1 hour and 30 minutes.)

03:30 PM. Arriving at Hat Yai International Airport / Hat Yai safely.

P.S. Boat schedule in low season for Koh Lipe - Pak Bara Pier is 09:30 AM and 11:30 AM.
